"For Life", the newest ministry of Temple Baptist Church of Flower Mound, Tx is set to kick off this Sunday afternoon as Derek "DZ" Zimmerman, and myself (Richard Wallace, Jr.) have been provided the opportunity to preach to the incarcerated youth of Gainesville State School. Derek will be preaching to the first group of boys, numbering somewhere around 75, and I will bat "clean-up" with the second group. Derek has chosen "Faith" as his sermon topic, and I will be sharing my testimony message, "Hello, My Name Was... Prodigal".
This will begin a multi-pronged ministry advancement at the school. We are going to be providing mentors, tutors, Bible study teachers, and courses on addiction to these boys that Christ loves.
On February 26, 2007, the day after I came back to Christ, Jack Patterson (founder of Reclamation Ranch) told me over the phone, "Junior, you better reach the homeless, the addicted, and the imprisoned because that is who you were and where you would have been without your daddy." He was right, and since that day I have pushed myself to minister to these people groups, and my has God ever provided the opportunities to do so.
If you would have an interest in touching the hearts and lives of boys ages 12-18 through this new and exciting ministry please e-mail me at ruman.wallace@gmail.com.
